About Breakerwick
Breakerwick Electric is a referral service. We publish information about electrical repairs, panels, wiring, EV charging and backup power, and we connect people who call or send a request with independent electrical contractors that work in their area.
Breakerwick does not perform electrical work. We do not employ electricians, own service vehicles or hold an electrical license, and we have no local offices. The company you speak with is a separate business that sets its own prices, schedule and terms.
How a call is handled
- You call the number on this site or submit the callback form.
- The call or request is routed, by your ZIP code and the type of work, to an independent electrical contractor that has agreed to take inquiries in that area.
- That company talks with you, looks at the job and gives you a price. Any agreement is between you and that company.
- If no company is available for your area, you will be told so.
Calls may be answered by a call-routing provider, and they may be recorded or tracked so that routing can be measured and improved.
How the site is paid for
Breakerwick may receive a fee from the electrical contractor for a call or request it forwards. You do not pay Breakerwick anything. This arrangement does not change the price the company quotes you, and it does not affect the information in our guides.
What we do not do
- We do not verify each company's license, insurance or certifications on your behalf.
- We do not guarantee workmanship, pricing, response time or availability.
- We do not publish customer reviews or star ratings, because we have no way to verify them.
Before work starts, ask the company for a certificate of liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage sent by its insurer, a written scope and the total price. Where a state licenses electrical work, such as Louisiana and Oregon, ask for the license number and look it up.
How the content is written
Pages are written to answer the question first and to be useful even if you never call. Cost figures are national ranges taken from published consumer cost guides and labeled as such. Local permit and ordinance summaries are drawn from city, state and university extension sources, which are linked on the page so you can check them. Rules change, so confirm with the agency before acting.
Photographs on the site are licensed stock images used to illustrate electrical work. They are not pictures of jobs done by Breakerwick or by companies in its network. See the gallery and the disclaimer.
